Falcons Soar in Their 2024 Season
Folsom Lake College clinched its second consecutive 3C2A State Championship with a 2-1 victory over Cypress College. Grace Pratt opened the scoring in the 10th minute with an assist from Kamaya Yazzie, giving the Falcons early momentum. Just before halftime, Madi Stroh converted a penalty kick to double the lead. Despite Cypress cutting the deficit with a penalty goal from Megan Alcantara in the second half, Folsom Lake's defense, anchored by goalkeeper Linnea Sybersma’s four key saves, held strong under pressure.
The Falcons showcased a combination of offensive precision and defensive resilience, withstanding Cypress’s late push that included 11 shots and five corner kicks. Head coach Donny Ribaudo commended the team’s preparation and composure, emphasizing the significance of their back-to-back titles. With this victory, Folsom Lake further establishes its dominance in the 3C2A, solidifying a legacy of excellence.
